Are you planning a summer trip to the Apostle Islands or just want to wander Wisconsin via the airwaves? Friends of the Apostle Islands Executive Director Jeff Rennicke will join hosts Becky Mortensen and Amanda Weibel of Travel Wisconsin on this month’s segment of “Wandering Wisconsin.”
Heard on Milwaukee’s NPR station WUWM 89.7 FM, “Wandering Wisconsin” is part of the popular “Lake Effect” radio show and looks at the best of Wisconsin’s travel destinations. This month the program will feature Bayfield and the Apostle Islands. “The Apostle Islands truly are among the crown jewels of Wisconsin,” says Rennicke, “and I am happy to see this spotlight shine on them as a travel destination. Come visit. Fall in love with the islands and then help us protect them.”
The program will include information on hiking, camping, kayaking, and boating in the Apostle Islands – everything from permits required to staying safe on the lake – as well as what to do on the mainland and around town while you are in Bayfield.
If you missed the radio show on Wednesday, May 7th, you can listen to it here.
