The Martin Hanson Conservation Endowment Fund
The Martin Hanson Conservation Endowment Fund (MHCEF) was established by an anonymous donor in November of 2008 as a tribute to the late Martin Hanson. It was through his tireless efforts, working in conjunction with Gaylord Nelson and Bud Jordahl, that the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore was conceived and came into being.
The Trustor of the Endowment, a great admirer of Martin, directed that the net earnings from the Fund be distributed to FRIENDS, as the sole beneficiary, annually to help carry on with their mission. The MHCEF is professionally managed through the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation (DSACF).
Contributions to the MHCEF are another great way for people to support FRIENDS and to honor Martin’s legacy. If you would like to make a contribution to this Fund, please contact the DSACF at 218-726-0232, send them an email or give online to the MHCEF on the DSACF Web Site.
